(344 words) Are there people who do not know the novel of the great Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin "Eugene Onegin"? I think no. The book is studied at school for a reason. The conclusions from the text read are moralizing, and the characters help to understand what is good and what is bad.
There are a lot of characters in the novel, but there are four main ones. This is Yevgeny Onegin himself, his friend Vladimir Lensky and sisters Tatyana and Olga Larins.
Eugene Onegin - A young nobleman and a wealthy heir. His life was spent in entertainment, he spent evenings at balls, but do not think that the hero was stupid. It was filled with many talents and opportunities, but the light considered him only "sweet and smart." Onegin has a selfish and hypocritical character. For him, public opinion means a lot, it is important for him to know what people think about him. He is ready to go on to kill the only friend, because the refusal of a duel can undermine his authority. He does not value loved ones. His only sincere feelings are indifference and longing.
Vladimirsky Lensky - Onegin's friend. He is his opposite. Unlike Eugene, Vladimir is a dreamer, an ardent, enthusiastic young man, naive and trusting. He is not yet corrupted by the light. He is a homebody and monogamous. Lensky is full of inspiration and hope for the future, he believes in goodness, friendship, love because of his age (he is 18 years old). The young man was jealous of his beloved Olga to his comrade and dies in a duel at his hand.
Olga Larina - the younger sister of Tatyana Larina. The author describes her as a young and beautiful girl. She has flaxen hair and light blue eyes. Unlike quiet Tatyana, Olga is a cheerful, carefree, windy girl. She is a simple coquette, in her image there is no depth: «…Her portrait [...] / I used to love him myself, / But he bothered me immensely ... ". After the death of the groom, the girl is a little sad, but quickly enough comforted by the company of another.
Tatyana Larina. Pushkin always said that this girl is his favorite hero in the novel. She is the perfect embodiment of Russian national character. Tatyana does not conquer with catchy beauty, dresses and speaks simply. The girl often goes into herself, does not seek to flirt and seduce. She feels better alone with herself, and not in society. Her best friends are books. Her nature is pure and virtuous, shuns deceit and falsehood.
