But sometimes no less fortitude is required in peacetime. Vasyutka, the hero of V.P. Astafyev’s short story “Vasyutkino Lake”, got lost in the forest. The boy became interested in the pursuit of the capercaillie and lost the road. However, he did not sit under a tree and did not begin to sob: he walked forward, guided by the terrain, and, in the end, went to the Yenisei, where he was picked up and brought home.
Strength of mind is a quality that can and must be cultivated in oneself, since life is filled with trials from which one must be able to get out with dignity.
