(362 words) The novel “The Captain's Daughter” by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin is a growing novel. This is the story of Pyotr Grinev, who has turned from a simple youth into a responsible man who has undergone many life tests. He had to take part in the Pugachev uprising, go through a thorough check of principles in order to remain faithful to the oath at the exit and maintain his honor. The novel is narrated in the form of memoirs, and the hero himself sums up his life from the height of his own experience.
The creation of the novel by Alexander Sergeyevich was inspired by Walter Scott, the master of the historical novel, whose work at that time began to be translated into Russian. The audience was delighted with adventure stories and dives in another era. At that time, Alexander Sergeevich was already working on a chronicle of the uprising dedicated to Pugachev. All this prompted him to realize his artistic intent in the novel.
But, oddly enough, the title of the work does not affect either Grinev or Pugachev, which does not allow to unravel his plan. The novel was named after Maria Mironova, a girl from whom no one expected courage. She dared to ask the empress for a traitor and obtained forgiveness for her savior.
The image of the main character of the novel has been evaluated more than once by both critics and readers. For example, Marina Tsvetaeva, having analyzed the work of Alexander Sergeyevich, expressed her opinion that the whole trouble of Masha was in Grinev’s love, but Pushkin’s dislike. Because of this, the girl appears spectacular, but to some extent useless.
Masha Mironova’s appearance was unusual, but the unusualness was not in appearance, though not devoid of attractive and pleasant features, but in the exceptional inner world: the girl was very kind and sweet. Masha was chubby and ruddy, she had blond blond hair and a beautiful, angelic voice. Being a sensitive nature, Masha was ready to perform feats for the sake of love. This is evidenced by her sincere feelings for Grinev after a duel and courtship for the wounded. However, the girl considers it necessary to move away from Grinev after his recovery, as he sees himself on the border of the permissible.
Masha Mironova is a well-educated and decent girl. Her love for Grinev, although passionate, does not become fatal, because Masha behaves modestly and decently, not allowing to cross borders. Her education is at her disposal, it is easy to find a topic for conversation with her, as the girl will be able to support and develop her. Masha does not know how to flirt, which distinguished her as a girl of noble origin and what was most attractive to Grinyov.
